K-Pop Dance Party (March 2023) Gallery

Teens (and some brave adults) learned some choreography to BTS’s “Dynamite,” this March (2023) from Melanie Andersen, dance instructor (Turning Pointe Academy of Dance in Elgin). Everyone picked it up really quickly and challenged themselves at the end of class to speed things up – double time – with some hilarious results. Check out some photos from the event below!

K-Pop Dance Party (November 2022)

Dance instructor, Melanie Andersen (from Turning Pointe Academy of Dance in Elgin) led us through some choreography to the chorus of Nayeon’s “POP!” this November, and our teen participants were up to the challenge! (Their YA Librarian counterpart will probably be practicing at 75% for the foreseeable future.) It was a fun class and we all got a good workout. Check out some photos below. Holiday Bake-stravaganza (December 2021)

Adults and teens explored their creative baking skills with our Holiday Bake-stravaganza take home kits (December 2021). The kit included a potholder and a basic cookie dough recipe that could be dressed up multiple ways – from oatmeal raisin to a hazelnut chocolate! Take a Hike (November 2021)

Library patrons participated in our Take a Hike program in November 2021 and shared photos of their adventures below. We distributed kits to help people plan and take enjoyable hikes. Kits included a backpack for supplies, water bottle, granola bar, safety whistle, and maps detailing area conservation sites. Want to plan your own hike? Vampire Gourds (October 2021)

Teens (grades 6-12) can pick up a Teen Take Home kit starting September 20, 2021, and create their own vampire gourd. Kits include a gourd, some vampire teeth, and red push pins, and will be available at the library’s Information Desk while supplies last! 1 kit per teen. Tiny Art (September 2021)

Teens (grades 6-12) can pick up a Teen Take Home kit starting September 1, 2021, and create their own tiny work of art.
