When amazing art is being done, you need to showcase it…so we had an art show! Kids were asked to bring in 1-2 items they made at Project Tween to share with library visitors. Teens created delicious treats with the talented staff at Morkes Chocolates in Huntley. Popcorn balls, push-up cake pops, and chocolate dipped strawberries were all declared delicious! We offered 2 classes this summer in conjunction with Morkes.

Enjoy pictures of our popular July Project Tween Paint-and-sip project: a sunset painting. To begin, each tween started by painting their canvas all orange. Then they layered different colors of acrylic paint and lastly, topped their creation with paint dots for the sun rays. What beautiful sunsets! Photos from the library’s teen Star Wars event! We made light sabers, learned to pilot droids, practiced our Death Star destruction techniques, did some Jedi yoga, and refreshed ourselves with Yoda Soda, Darth Pop, and Chewbacca cookies.
