Teens learned how to fly and steer kites on a particularly blustery afternoon – we had 20mph+ winds at times! It was challenging with some of the kite designs, but participants had fun, and our instructor, Eric, was kept busy running back and forth as he helped people get airborn again. Remember Perler beads? We got a little nostalgic for our childhood and brought out these fun, fusable, plastic beads. You can make pretty much anything with them! Teens tried out some of our example patterns and came up with their own designs. Check out what we made below:

Participants tried out some choreography from the Barbie movie – broken down for us step by step – by dance instructor, Melanie Andersen. The last part was particularly challenging, featuring some jumps, kicks, and spins! Check out some photos from the event below.
So many beautiful scarves were created during this class. Participants experimented with different folding and rubberbanding techniques, and colorful dyes to make these unique masterpieces. Lots of fun on a very chilly afternoon! We are all looking forward to doing this again in the future.
We made a whole donsy of gnomes at this December 2023 event! They fit in perfectly with our winter reading theme: Everyone Read! Gnome Matter Who You Are.” These are easy to make if you want to have a bunch of your own.
