“Good Girl, Bad Blood” by Holly Jackson is the gripping sequel to “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”. This mystery novel follows the pursuit of truth by amateur sleuth Pippa Fitz-Amobi. Pippa finds herself entangled in another perplexing case. When her friend’s brother (Jamie Reynolds) goes missing, it is Pippa’s responsibility to investigate this case. Pippa’s investigative instincts kick in, and she once again takes on the role of detective. As Pippa dives into this case, she uses her once-notorious podcast to unravel the layers of secrets and lies surrounding the disappearance of her friend’s brother. Once again, Pippa risks her life, family, and her future to solve another case. Having previously lost her dog to solve the murder case of Andie Bell and Sal Singh, she risks it all to solve the disappearance of Jamie Reynolds. Will Pippa find him before it is too late?
Holly Jackson does justice to her original book, “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” with this novel. I loved this book since there were unexpected twists and turns, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Holly Jackson also invites readers to accompany Pippa on her journey as she navigates the intricacies of her investigation. This novel not only serves as a thrilling mystery but also dives into the aspects of crime solving and a plot full of surprises. I would recommend the book to middle schoolers due to the simplicity of this book. This book is also available in audiobook form.
