This book is all about Ash and his quest to find a way to be mortal. He traveled up the river of dreams with Puck, Wolf, Ariella, and Grimlin the cat. No one knows how long they were on the river because in Fairy, time does not exist. It could have been a century in the mortal world. Then after the river ended they were at the end of the world (literally). Ash found the guardian of the world and he granted him a soul. Ash went back to Meg and was happy for the rest of his life!
