* Star (A waste of time!)
This manga series is about a group of high school girls who try to revive their school’s pop music club. To be honest, I did not like this book at all. Sure, it’s well-drawn, and they give you great guitar playing tips at the end, but those are just about the only things I liked about this book.  For starters, I did not like the style of humor the author used. The humor was either very juvenile or very foreign and untranslatable, even with the translation notes (most of which were poorly explained). Also, the author constantly makes the characters go off on pointless tangents. Additionally, the short length of the book, as well as the cute character designs and juvenile humor could possibly make this book appealing to children, even though it is written to an older teen audience, and the plot of this book is very slow-moving. I also did not like the fact that the so-called “leader” of the band had no experience in music, nor did she really want to. On the other hand, the fact that these aspiring musicians keep persevering and trying their best is a wonderful positive message to real-life aspiring musicians, or anybody in general who has a goal in life. In the end, as a fan of everything music-related, especially books, this book really disappointed me.
