The Killer’s Cousin
by Nancy Werlin
Realistic Fiction
* * * * Stars (Great!)
David committed a serious crime, so he has to move into his aunt and uncle’s house because he wasn’t sent to jail, but the rumors would be spread around his home town. His uncle and him spend little time together, and his aunt doesn’t want him around. His cousin, Lily, doesn’t like him either. “Did you feel powerful?” she asks him once? David thinks Lily is crazy. Will a terrible accident and a truth about Lily’s older sister’s death bring them together. I like this book because it doesn’t tell you the story of David’s crime, it tells you pieces of the crime whenever he thinks about it.
