Who is eligible for the service?

Residents in the library district who are unable to reach the library or leave home as a result of a disabling condition or lack of transportation. You must also have a Huntley Area Public Library District card.

What if I live in the district but do not have a Huntley Area Public Library District card?

Contact the Circulation Desk at 847-669-5386 and press 1 for details on registering for a library card.

What materials can I request to borrow?

The following library materials are available for delivery through the Library2Go Service: books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, and music. “New” DVD movies are not available.

How does this service operate?

Once your application has been received, a staff member will contact you. Library2Go patrons request specific materials and/or request that a librarian selects items from a list of your preferences. Materials are then delivered to your home. The frequency of the deliveries is once every three weeks.

What is the cost?

The service is free. The payment of overdue fines are waived for homebound patrons when the library is at fault (i.e. pickup/delivery problems). However, you are responsible for the cost of lost and damaged items.

How do I request this service?

If you or someone you know are interested in receiving Library2Go Service, please read the parameters and fill out the application. Contact the Information Desk at 847-669-5386 and press 3 for more information or to request print copies of the parameters and application. Mail completed applications to Library2Go, Huntley Area Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road, Huntley, IL 60142.

The Huntley Area Public Library will be closed on Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24, 2024) and Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25, 2024). The exterior book drop will close on Monday, December 23, at 8 p.m. The library and exterior book drop will reopen Thursday, December 26, at 9 a.m. All of our online resources will be available at this time.
