Miles and Vivian were brilliant together. They created a website that attracted millions of creative, artistic people like themselves, and they were so very, very in love. But then Vivian tried to kill herself by taking too many pills and she wound up in a coma – neither dead nor alive. Her ultra-conservative parents swooped in and put their “son” on life support, denying her her identity and her choice – not something Vivian would have wanted – and Miles’ moms tried to sue for custody. Miles knew it was probably the right thing to do, but after awhile he just didn’t have the heart to fight anymore. He was too sad over Vivian’s loss. After almost a year of misery, his moms decide to send him to Iceland – all expenses paid – to get him away from it all and maybe inspire him to start making art again. Something to help him move on. And a cute Icelandic hotel concierge by the name of Oskar might be just the motivation Miles needs. This is at turns sad and beautiful and hilarious and heart-breaking, and gosh, there are so many curious things about Iceland you’ll learn! Miles is a breathtaking mess of misery and hormones, but you’ll love him. For older high school teens and young adults.
