Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Huntley Area Public Library District

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Huntley Area Public Library District for 2023 will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at the Huntley Area Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road, Huntley, Illinois.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $3,534,793.

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $3,782,228. This represents a 7.00% increase over the previous year.

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2022 were $1,010,775.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public commission leases for 2023 are $1,009,250. This represents a 0.15% decrease over the previous year.

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $4,545,568.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $4,791,478. This represents a 5.41% increase over the previous year.
