* * * * * Stars (Amazing!)
Afer all the drama at Bayview High involving Simon’s (now dead) gossip blog, it has sparked some new creativity into the incoming underclassmen. Now Maeve, Bronwyn’s younger sister, and all of her friends have to deal with the wannabe sites that are just like Simon’s. When Maeve finds out about a new gossip site, Truth or Dare, she thinks it’s just another copy, until it leads to someone’s death. Follow Maeve and her friends’ journey to find out who’s behind the screen and to protect their loved ones.

This book was amazing in every possible way! My favorite part was that I got to read more and revisit some of my favorite characters from “One of Us Is Lying.” For middle and high school teens.

* * * Stars (Pretty good)
“One of Us is Next” by Karen M. McManus is a sequel to “One of Us is Lying”. This book is set in the same high school (Bayview High), and the story follows a new set of students. The story follows three underclassmen; Maeve Rojas, Knox Myers, and Phoebe Lawton. When Maeve, Bronwyn’s younger sister, finds a new gossip site, all chaos breaks loose. Maeve, Knox, and Phoebe get involved in a deadly game of Truth or Dare. When Phoebe chooses not to play, secrets start to spill, leading to dangerous consequences. Maeve, Knox, and other students must uncover the mastermind behind the game before it’s too late. Will Maeve and her friends be able to find out the mastermind behind this gossip site? Read the book to find out!

One thing that I really liked able “One of Us is Next” is the fast-paced plot. The new characters are interesting, but compared to the original cast, they lack the development that was seen in the original cast. Some plot twists are predictable. I liked the ending of the book and it was very satisfying. McManus’s writing style also makes the book interesting and fun to read. For middle and high school teens.
