The main setting of “Sail” is on an old fisherman’s boat which hasn’t been in use since its owner died years ago. Now, the owner’s wife and completely abnormal kids break this peace by going on a family vacation, along with the owner’s daughter. On board is a widow, her brother in law, her children (one bulimic, one always intoxicated, and one far too intelligent for his age). When the ship is pulled into a major storm and washes up on a barren island, what will happen next? I loved this novel due to the suspense and realistic characters.
