Huntley Brewery and Taproom donates $500.00 to Library

Collaborating with community partners is a large part of what makes Huntley an exceptional place to live. When the library was getting ready to reopen, staff wanted to make an impact and work with our partners to make sure the community knew about all the changes the library made during the construction and renovation project, and to celebrate the occasion. One of those partners was Sew Hop’d Brewery and Taproom. Why? For years, the library has wanted to have a micro-brewing program or a wine tasting event with a library branded beverage. The amazing crew at Sew Hop’d made that a reality. Earlier this year they unveiled Wit Stack, a Celebration Brew to celebrate our Grand Reopening. This was a huge thrill for us and for craft beer lovers around the Huntley area. They did a fantastic label for the cans and even provided a tour of the facility. Not only did it look cool, but it also tasted great!

On July 18, 2022, Lance Lamb from Sew Hop’d was the presenter at the library’s 55+ program. Lance spoke about Sew Hop’d and how they founded the brewery and how it is housed inside of a renovated part of the historical Union Special building. Lance could spin local history stories for hours upon hours as he and his family have strong roots in Huntley. Before the program began Lance presented the library with a donation for $500.00. It came as a surprise to us. We were honestly thrilled to partner with them for a library brew and show the community how cool their spot in town is, what a great team they have, and to work together on some Local History and library programs. Their generosity is greatly appreciated. We look forward to future projects and pours.

Thank you to Lance and Sew Hop’d!
