The humans see him as a trouble maker. Aggie, his sister, sees him as the most wonderful brother. Meet Alastair, the African Grey parrot. He has a tendency to bite. He enjoys eating words. As soon as he rips a page out, the words spring into his mouth. Some taste as dry as sawdust. Some taste like cherries. In the pet store where Aggie and Alastair live, Alastair considers himelf the enemy of a boy named Fritz. But Fritz loves Aggie, and Aggie loves Fritz. I enjoyed this book because parrots love and loyalty are large themes within it. As Alastair crafts escape plans, and as he meets new friends, He learns something. That sometimes the best thing you can do is to let go.
