Ben Ripley started spy school in the first installment of this graphic novel series based on the books. Now he’s just been informed that ALL students are required to attend summer school, actually summer camp for prospective spies. Ben’s getting himself resigned to MORE school when he discovers that the evil spy organization, SPYDER is STILL after him and their message is the same – join us or DIE! With the help of a more senior student, Erica Hale (really, there’s no one better to have on your team), Ben has to figure out how SPYDER has infiltrated their school (yet again) and what they’re really up to. What the heck is so important about Ben that SPYDER wants him so badly? Lots of suspense and humor (many/most of the adult figures in this book are completely incompetent or unbelievably over the top – it’s a wonder that any of these spy organizations are successful). I started reading the non-graphic version, but really liked this format better. Fans of spy novels, spy school, and humor will enjoy these fast-paced renditions. For elementary school kids (4th grade +) and middle school teens.
