Summer Reading Challenge Registration Day!

As summer approaches, the Huntley Area Public Library is gearing up for an exciting kickoff to our Summer Reading Challenge ‘Read, Renew, Repeat’ with a Registration Day event on
Monday, June 3rd. The library invites families and community members to join in on the festivities and sign up for a summer of reading and repeating!

Throughout the day, families and community members will be able to register for our ‘Read, Renew, Repeat’ Summer Reading Challenge. Children, teens, and adults can participate for a chance to win prizes!

Smarty Pants, Chicago’s Favorite Family Entertainer, will be here to put on their Big Balloon Show from 10:00 am – 10:45 am. Inspired by the classic Choose Your Own Adventure book series, the audience will vote on the show’s direction – silly or scary. This event is full, but families are welcome to join the waitlist here.

Following the show, we will head outside, where Kona Ice will be here from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Also, during this time, the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department will be at our Summer Reading Registration Day with their Rec2U van. Staff will provide fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

At 11:30 am, Huntley Park District will be hosting a GO Huntley walk at Parisek Park. Participants can register for the walk here.

Finally, we will be offering 4 sessions of our Glass Marble Magnets program, where participants can make and take home 3 marble magnets. Slots are filling up quickly, so make sure you register at
huntleylibrary.org/events.

We will be handing out HAPL goodies throughout the day. Don’t miss out on the excitement – mark your calendars for June 3rd at the Huntley Area Public Library! For regular updates on our Summer Reading Challenge, follow us on social media and check out our website at huntleylibrary.org/srp2024
