The newest (and final, according to our sources) Maximum Ride book is out! We celebrated with a Maximum Ride event that tested our “bird kid” attendees’ physical and mental skills. After a brief warmup, our flock honed their dexterity, reflexes, and hand-to-eye coordination. Batman fans this July competed in a number of physical and mental challenges to hone their bat-skills. We indulged in some tasty bat-snax and were pleased that our Batman beacons turned out so well!
On June 26, 2012, Teens created their own dream journals at the library’s Teen Tuesday: Big Dreams event.
On June 19, 2012, for Teen Tuesdays, area teens created fashionable, unique, and handy (also possibly indestructible) duct tape wallets. Check out some of their creations.
Kids in grades 4-8 got together at the Huntley Area Public Library to create their own journals, diaries, and sketchbooks on November 3, 2011. Using a variety of materials, they made some really amazing creations (paint and duct tape were particularly popular). Once paint and glue dried, there was even time for some of them to get started writing and drawing!
On December 20, 2010, teens at the HAPL decorated mini graham cracker houses to take home for the holidays. We had some VERY creative designs and designers and a delicious time was had by all!
