Over one hundred kids finished and turned in their Winter Reading logs to receive a prize! Enjoy photos of some of our program finishers as they picked out their prizes. More than 300 kids participated in our Winter Reading program “Get Your Mitts on a Good Book” this year. Thanks to the Chicago Wolves for helping to sponsor this program. Harry Potter fans met in our “Room of Requirement” for a magical evening. Whether a wizard or a muggle, all had a chance to make a wand. Other activities included playing pin-the-nose on The Dark Lord, taking turns with the “sorting hat” and channeling their inner wizard. Be on the lookout for wizards! Enjoy these adorable pictures of our Read to a Dog program in February. Each month, families get reading practice with an animal friend. Plus, the pets are doggone good listeners! Read to a Dog is a monthly program for families at the Huntley Area Public Library. The volunteer animals are licensed therapy dogs and are accompanied by their owners for the program. We provided the canvas and the paint. They were asked to express themselves on canvas in a self-portrait, using acrylic paints.
