On June 19, 2012, for Teen Tuesdays, area teens created fashionable, unique, and handy (also possibly indestructible) duct tape wallets. Check out some of their creations.
To celebrate the release of Rick Riordan’s new book, “Son of Neptune,” the Huntley Area Public Library invited fans of the series to participate in an Olympics event – Camp Half-Blood style! In addition to trivia contests, toga relays, and a scavenger hunt, the kids got to slay Medusa (a bunch of times). If Huntley is ever invaded by Gorgons, we can feel comfortable knowing our fate is in the hands of these young heroes!
Kids in grades 4-8 got together at the Huntley Area Public Library to create their own journals, diaries, and sketchbooks on November 3, 2011. Using a variety of materials, they made some really amazing creations (paint and duct tape were particularly popular). Once paint and glue dried, there was even time for some of them to get started writing and drawing!
The library’s Junior Volunteers had their end of summer celebration at the library on August 1, 2011. The library’s Friends Foundation generously sponsored this big thank-you party for our teen helpers who volunteered their time over the summer. Thanks to everyone! We’re so happy to have had your help!
This July, presenter, Sandy Homuth, gave area teens beauty tips and walked them through the steps of giving (and receiving) a manicure. Everyone left feeling a little more pampered (and sparkly!) than before!
The Huntley Area Public Library hosts lots of events for teens. Check out some of our photo galleries to see what we've done, and please, share your ideas for possible events of the future!
