Greta is training to become a blacksmith and isn’t really seeing the value in producing something like swords, which no one really uses anymore. Then she finds a tiny green dragon – one of the tea dragons – whose caretaker introduces her to the care and keeping of these special creatures and it opens her mind to the possibilities, pleasures and benefits that lost (or nearly so) and/or forgotten arts can bring. Greta also finds and makes a special friend in Minette, who has lost her memories and is learning to make new ones as she bonds with another of the tea dragons. Featuring beautiful illustrations in soft colors of a whole variety of creatures/species of all different colors living in harmony with one another and forming friendships and relationships in a loving, accepting way. Everything about this is lovely. The tea dragons especially are adorable and fragile and feisty. Katie O’Neill created “The Tea Dragon Society” first as a webcomic and it was later published in book format in October 2017. Katie is also the author of “Princess Princess Ever After.”
