She was dropped off on the front doorstep of the fire station with a note stating her name, and a promise from her mother (who said she was returning). So when a lady shows up to bring April to the Winterborne Home, she doesn’t want to go. However, the house becomes more than it seems: a ghostly Sentinel, a mysterious ghost of a family said to have all died, and a rather different group of children. April must learn to get along with the group of children, befriend a ghost and legend, and learn what it means to have and be in a family.
